Miss G’s: Once upon a digital world

For over 27,000 years, since the first cave paintings were discovered, telling stories has been one of our most fundamental communication method. This idea led me to a website that I can effectively use inside my own future classroom. So why not bring storytelling to the 21st century by making it enhanced? In this blog I explain the multiple options this augmented technology provides for and how you, as a teacher can implement this tool in your own classes.

While trying to find some activities on the book; Holes I stumbled upon a very handy digital instrument. It gives pupils the opportunity to create their own story by making a cartoonistic image and writing a short commentary below. It’s called http://www.storyboardthat.com.

When learners at your school do not possess a computer or tablet, you can use this site to make handy flash cards. For example: When you asked your pupils to read a book and you want to check their knowledge. Each student or small group is given a flash card with a character of the book. The card provides them with three questions that relates the character to the events of the book. This is an easy and fun way to make a post activity.

As a teacher you always have pupils that do not like to read books or long stories. This SAMR device; http://www.storyboardthat.com will help you motivate them without any effort.
